PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The Vaccine Clinical Materials Program (VCMP) is responsible for the overall direction of the operations/manufacturing of the vaccine and biotherapeutic development facility for the development of experimental therapeutics for pre-clinical and Phase I and II clinical trials targeting a range of infectious diseases.

KEY ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Administrative Supervisor, the cGMP Order Coordinator will:

  • Purchase lab supplies for development and cGMP manufacturing
  • Purchase lab equipment
  • Purchase office supplies
  • Interact with VCMP staff and vendors
  • Request quotes
  • Use catalogs and reference materials to advise requestors on sources, descriptions, delivery and processes for requesting materials
  • Follow up on delivery dates and status of orders
  • Work with staff to clarify specifications and resolve issues
  • Select vendors for procurement of standard material and supplies
  • Solicit verbal and written quotations
  • Draft correspondence requesting prices or samples and explaining purchasing actions
  • Contact vendors to place purchase orders
  • Coordinate deliveries with Receiving Department
  • Coordinate invoicing issues with internal staff to resolve discrepancies
  • Ensure that buying activities are in accordance with contractual requirements
  • Record details of purchases in access database as per procedures


Qualifications:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

  • Possession of a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of one (1) year of work experience at the Purchasing Processor level or two (2) years of general office experience
  • Experience working with vendors
  • Experience ordering materials and supplies
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

  • Experience ordering GMP materials
  • Experience with Microsoft Access
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Excel
