Contracts and Acquisitions (C&A) provides all purchasing, subcontracting, receiving, warehousing, distribution, and transportation services for the Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer Research (FNL).


The Logistics Support Associate Jr. Receiving Clerk will be responsible for:

  • Physical and administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing and distributing of materials, parts, supplies and equipment
  • Preparing and keeping accurate records of goods shipped, e.g. manifests, bills of lading, filing, data entry
  • Resolving end-user/customer problems and issues
  • Verifying incoming and outgoing shipments are accurately filled by comparing items and quantities of goods gathered for shipment against documents, bill of lading, invoices, manifests, storage receipts or other records
  • Check for damaged goods
  • Ensure that goods are appropriately identified for routing to departments within the FNL
  • Working hours will be 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.



To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

  • Possession of a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • In addition to the education requirement, one (1) year of related work experience
  • Must become educated in and maintain certification for Hazardous Materials in Transportation (General Awareness training)
  • Ability to maintain accurate files, logs, and records
  • Good verbal, telephone, and customer relation skills
  • Basic computer skills to include data entry
  • Ability to operate Material Handling Equipment (forklift, hand and/or power trucks)
  • Must have and maintain a valid State Driver's License with no more than 3 points as determined by the appropriate State Motor Vehicle Administration point system for offenses
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance


Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

  • Administrative/clerical experience
  • Warehousing experience
  • Shipping/receiving experience; processing freight, logging, verifying incoming and outgoing shipments
