Req Title: Systems Administrator Job number: CHQ20182208-26911 Location: Clifton, NJ Job Description: The successful System Administrator candidate will help to plan and carry out network infrastructure and information security strategy. Provide technical support for both hardware and software issues our users encounter Manage the configuration and operation of client-based and server operating systems Monitor the system daily and respond immediately to user or security concerns. Develops security standards and best practices based on the governments requirements, and recommend security enhancements to management as needed. Enterprise security\systems administration responsibilities covering multiple sites in Clifton New Jersey, Amityville NY and national sites for the EIT Organization. Extensive knowledge in administering and implementing Risk Management Framework. Experience administering and hardening Linux and Windows operating systems.Configuration and administration of software patching and vulnerability remediation processes. Configuration and administration of Enterprise network security tools (Ivanti, Nessus, Manage Engine, Splunk). Experience in engineering secure VMware technology including the following: vSphere, vRealize, vSAN, VDI, and other VMware suite products a plus Configuration and administration of Cisco switches, networking devices (firewalls, switches, routers, Taclanes, NSA Type I encryption, etc.). Creating white papers for technical proposals to satisfy security and compliance from an IT perspective to integrate end product and IT systems. Designing and implementing of IT solutions in support of program or pursuit requirements. Providing after hours and weekend On-Call Engineering support as needed.Define the use of software and hardware, such as firewalls and data encryption programs, to protect the customers data in based on governments requirements. Conduct periodic scans of networks to find any compliance and vulnerabilities. Constantly monitor internal networks and systems for security breaches or intrusions. Utilize SolarWinds and other utilities that help to notify the organization of intrusions, and monitor for irregular system behavior. Create and maintain a test network to showcase new technologies and upgrades of software for production testing. Perform requirements analysis, design, and integration for complex software applications and collaboration infrastructuresSome lifting/bending required, up to 30 pounds. Qualifications: BS in IT, MIS, CS degree with 6 years of equivalent military or civilian Government/contractor work experience. 6+ years’ experience in System Administration Advanced proficiency with Red Hat Linux and Microsoft Windows servers is required. 6+ years with RAID, iSCSI, , TCP/IP, and Volume Management is required. 5+ years with VMware and Cisco switches is required. Experience with SolarWinds administration DoD 8570 certification (IAT Level II, IAM level II or IASAE Level II) required Active Secret Clearance is required Preferred Additional Skills: Basic or higher proficiency with Commvault and Backup Exec Backup and Recovery software a plus. Red Hat or Microsoft certification preferred.Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written forms. Ability to prepare and present technical documents and presentations to employees and customers. Self-starter and have the ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to learn new technologies and execute tasks with moderate guidance.Ability to be very detail oriented and interact with a wide range of individuals and levels of management. Experience with customer focus and understanding customer’s sense of urgency.
